lyrics
From a dim and misty grove, prosperity mourns.
Yearning for amendment.
In this tranquil solitary condition, enveloped by lacerating thorns,
I unearth from the fathomless abyss,
menacing divination unperceived.
This trembling husk, subordinate to epiphany,
will soon return to cinders.
Forsaken kinsmen, give yourselves over to me.
The constellation of fate is compounding.
Oh, this bane has encircled me in a serpentine clutch.
This ravishing rebirth succeeding inferiority.
Black blood, flash flood, drowning, in mud.
The truth, concealed, beneath, revealed.
Gasping, choking, searing, smoking.
Torment unsurpassable.
My vision fading into nothingness
as I formulate the forbidden recital.
From this baleful alteration,
unconditional capacity.
Arcane conductor of silence and the forgettable,
walk with me.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9

An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
