Moonlight, glimmering,
guiding my course.
The roaring ocean waves
display their dominion.
South Star beckons,
irresistable avowals.
Lend yourself to my wish,
the tribute has been made.
A life for a life, a soul for another.
Oh, I implore you, agent of the dead, would you
grant me what's rightfully mine so this torment can

Blood surrounds me and fills me with scorn.
As I bring my gaze to the sky for one last endevour.
Curses upon you, betrayer.
Forger of truth and belief.
With my dying breath I banish you to the void.

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.

Beautiful, haunting, and incredibly engaging. I'm listening to this and looking out the window at snow falling -what could be more perfect?
An incredible record; highly recommended. It's truly beautiful, and that's not a word I often use for metal, but this is powerful stuff. somethingsomething9

An eclectic but incredibly well-integrated blend of traditional death metal, melodeath, black metal, progressive, and even a bit of folk (with the added bonus of audible and tasty bass guitar). The album has a consistent, pulverizing momentum punctuated by the rare acoustic passage or catchy chorus/refrain. Overall an unbelievably mature first offering from an up-and-coming band to watch.
